HOUSTON, Nov. 2, 2007 - Attorneys Jeffrey Patterson and Isaac Leventon of Hartline, Dacus, Barger, Dreyer & Kern, L.L.P. obtained a defense verdict on behalf of American Honda Finance Corp. and American Honda Motor Co., Inc., in a credit defamation, breach of contract, and fraud case in Houston.

FORT WORTH, Nov. 20, 2007 - Attorneys Jeffrey Patterson and Giovanna Tarantino obtained a unanimous defense verdict on behalf of American Honda Motor Co., Inc. in a product liability case tried in Fort Worth, Texas. The plaintiff alleged defects in the manufacture of his motorcycle, specifically that contamination and a recall condition caused the engine to unexpectedly shut off and caused his crash. The plaintiff was seeking more than $3.5 million in damages. After a ten day trial, but only twenty-two minutes of deliberation, the jury found the motorcycle was not defective and the plaintiff’s negligence was the sole cause of the crash.

DALLAS, Dec. 5, 2007 – Firm client General Motors Corporation previously obtained summary judgment in a wrongful death suit involving alleged design defects in a 1999 Pontiac Grand Am. Kyle H. Dreyer, Wendy L. May, and Pryce G. Tucker represented GM. The plaintiff died from injuries she received in the two-vehicle crash. The case was filed in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas – Fort Worth Division, before the Honorable John H. McBryde.

DALLAS, Oct. 25, 2007 - HDBDK partners Jeffrey Cox and John Dacus were recently retained by one of the world’s largest retailers to take over a three-year-old wrongful death case. As it turns out, the retailer, a new client for the firm, had fired the last two law firms on the case because they did not have expertise in electrical fires and fire cause and origin. Cox and Dacus were hired because they both regularly handle fire cases and because Dacus is an electrical engineer.

Jury Refuses to Find Defect in General Motors Seat Back

PHILADELPHIA, January 10, 2007 – HDBDK attorneys Kyle H. Dreyer and Wendy D.
