HOUSTON, Nov. 13, 2006 – Attorneys Kurt C. Kern and Abigail A. Mathews of Hartline, Dacus, Barger, Dreyer & Kern, L.L.P. won jury verdicts in favor of their clients, Toyota Industrial Equipment Manufacturing, Inc. and Toyota Lift of Houston in a product liability and negligence suit, involving a job site accident, which occurred during the use of a forklift.

U.S. District Court Judge Grants Partial Summary Judgment on Behalf of General Motors Corporation

DALLAS, Texas October 2, 2006 – Firm client General Motors Corporation obtained partial summary judgment in a wrongful death suit involving alleged design defects in a 1999 Pontiac Grand Am. Kyle H. Dreyer, Wendy L. May, and Pryce G. Tucker represented GM. The plaintiff died from injuries she received in the two-vehicle crash. The case was filed in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas – Fort Worth Division, before the Honorable John H. McBryde.

Jury Refused to Find Defect in 1995 Toyota Camry

AUSTIN, September 29, 2006 – Attorneys Kurt C. Kern and Suzanne H. Swaner of Hartline, Dacus, Barger, Dreyer & Kern, L.L.P. (HDBDK) won a jury verdict in favor of their client, Toyota Motor Corporation, in a crashworthiness case arising from a rear impact to a 1995 Toyota Camry that resulted in the death of the driver. Judge Lora Livingston of the 261st Judicial District Court of Travis County, Texas, presided over the case.

U.S. District Court Judge Grants Full Summary Judgment on Behalf of General Motors Corporation

LUBBOCK, Texas June 14, 2006 – Firm client General Motors Corporation was granted full summary judgment in a suit arising from a rollover crash involving a 1999 Chevrolet Silverado pickup. Deron L. Wade and Jason K. Burress represented GM. The plaintiff allegedly sustained severe injuries as a result of the crash. The case was filed in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas - Lubbock Division, before Judge Sam R. Cummings.
