Jury Refuses to Find Defect in General Motors Seat Back

PHILADELPHIA, January 10, 2007 – HDBDK attorneys Kyle H. Dreyer and Wendy D. May , along with William Ricci of the Philadelphia firm of Lavin, O’Neil, Ricci, Cedrone & Disipio, have successfully defended General Motors in a five week trial. A Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, state court jury returned a verdict for General Motors in this seat back crashworthiness case. The plaintiff claimed that the right front seat in a 1999 model year General Motors Cavalier was defective and caused the death of the right front passenger. The jury determined the right front seat was not defective and was crashworthy.
