HDBDK Attorneys Successfully Defend Honda in Credit Defamation, Breach of Contract and Fraud Case

HOUSTON, Nov. 2, 2007 - Attorneys Jeffrey Patterson and Isaac Leventon of Hartline, Dacus, Barger, Dreyer & Kern, L.L.P. obtained a defense verdict on behalf of American Honda Finance Corp. and American Honda Motor Co., Inc., in a credit defamation, breach of contract, and fraud case in Houston. The plaintiff claimed that Honda's illegal repossession resulted in contract damages and damage to the plaintiff's credit score. Honda Finance Corp. counterclaimed for the outstanding value of the vehicle lease which the plaintiff failed to pay. The jury rendered a unanimous defense verdict on the plaintiff’s 12 causes of action and ruled for Honda Finance Corporation on its counterclaim. The plaintiff was seeking treble damages under the Deceptive Trade Practices Act.
